Any way to NFS export a unionfs

Hi list,

trying to NFS export a unionfs yields:

Jul 31 14:46:22 antsrv1 mountd[438]: can't export /root/union/lower
Jul 31 14:46:22 antsrv1 mountd[438]: bad exports list line 
/root/union/lower

Is there any workaround to achieve this?
