After some digging ~1.5 years ago (or more?) I found, that this work
for me (conditional on filled XSTRIPBIN):
IMAKEENV+= STRIPBIN=${XSTRIPBIN}
Without this when I specify WITHOUT_TOOLCHAIN=yes on build stage each
installation is failed due to absent "strip".
But maybe, it is not very clean way, I don't know.
