In attempting to install aegis-4.24-RC2 on FreeBSD I discovered the
following (effects all versions of aegis/autoconf) on FreeBSD 8-CURRENT
(AMD64) [note to FreeBSD people I am posting this in -current and not
ports since it appears to be a base system problem vs. a ports one]....
there is no strverscmp defined in the above version of FreeBSD (there
was upto a few days ago) and configure incorrectly thinks there is
namely the following line:
checking for strverscmp... yes
This causes it to set HAVE_STRVERSCMP=1 and thus the build fails.
