System hangs solid with ATAPICAM

Did you try backing out rev.1.23 of ata_lowlevel.c?

That's interesting.  The bug avoided by backing out rev.1.23 of
ata-lowlevel.c is obviously system dependent.  I only see it on a
system that has a zip100.
