Since you're a young guy, I'm guessing you haven't used FreeBSD much.
As such I'd lurk on hackers and maybe current or stable or questions
for a bit. Get a "feel" for the place first.

I'd start on docs first. Write some corrections and patches (a
translation perhaps?), learn how to use send-pr(1), diff(1) etc.

As for meeting girls of about 14 who are interested in C,
astrophysics, maths and FreeBSD: the chances here or anywhere
are remote (short of uni).

I'm a sexist pig and the girls I meet only need to meet one
requirement: they've got to be friendly.

(Who though I was going to say "big jugs"? Shame on you!)

That requirement usually rules out all the really physically
attractive ones - they think they don't have to try.

That doesn't matter, to quote WC Fields with regards women:

"Anything more than a handful is a waste"

;)

Try and take an interest in what girls are interested in. If you show
an interest in their interests they're likely to show an interest in
you.

Maybe some graphic design with the Gimp? A bit of web design?

Babe: "I want help with my website"

You(now): "Sorry, I'm a kernel hacker"

You(soon): "Sure I can help. I can do graphic design, mark-up etc.
Perhaps I can call around and help when your parents are out"

...[later]...

Babe: "How can I ever thank you....." <eyes fluttering>

You: "I'll think of something..." <evil smirk>

=P

In short, use your l33t haXor skills to break into places (and I'm not
talking about computers :)

I think I better stop here before I get busted for inciting a minor or
something...

Disclaimer: I'm probably one of those Internet perverts you read
about in the newspapers.

All the best!
