Ah. That's that then. Who the hell came up with that idea?

Anyway, at the moment the one there is actually gawk. Are there no other 
implementations knocking around? There must be if it's in the standard.

Incidentally, is it a stated goal of the project to conform to IEEE Std 
1003.1?

I'll just leave it to somebody else, but it is worth noting that if people 
really want the project to be GPL free, with the exception of the compiler, 
it's acheivable.
