FreeBSD 6.1-STABLE FreeBSD 6.1-STABLE #0: Wed Jul 12 15:26:09 BRT 2006 hm at amd64

after some ocasional events like

Jul 18 19:02:40 apb-fru kernel: vr0: link state changed to DOWN
Jul 18 19:02:43 apb-fru kernel: vr0: link state changed to UP

the interface stops transmitting and need a complete power-off in order to come back. Reboot does not resolve the issue. It happens under load or not and happens with or without polling
