Problems with 5.0-CURRENT and mysql 4.0.12

Hi,

I have some problems with 5.0-CURRENT on a DS10L and

mysql  Ver 12.18 Distrib 4.0.12, for portbld-freebsd5.0 (alpha)

Locally it works fine, but when trying to connect from a remote host,
connections fail with errors.
