Freezing with aic7895 and an SMP machine.

Hello,

I'm brand new to this list. I have a serious problem, so I'll try to ask
in the nicest possible way....

I have an IBM Netfinity 7000-M10, with 4 processors. I installed RedHat
6.0 (2.2.5-15) without much trouble, but each time I rebuild my kernel,
and boot with the new kernel, the machine freezes upon loading the
aic7xxx driver.

scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 0, scsi0, channel 0, id 0,
       lun 0 Test Unit Ready 00 00 00 00 00

And this is where I freeze. Is this a common problem with an SMP machine
and the 7895 or the aix7xxx driver? Do I have to run a newer kernel? I
didn't just download a newer kernel because I'm doing some installation
testing. If any of you have any suggestions, or would like more info,
please do e-mail me.

Hopefully someone out there has had a similar problem. I hate to ask
this, if it's been a common or simple question!

Thanks!
