Hello,
I have a SCSI Timeout problem that I have beeing trying to solve for some time
now.
I saw that there is a new update for the AIC7xxx driver (5.1.14)
my questions are:
1) should I update the driver? If it's worse how can I get back to the previous
driver?
2) is the problem else where and how can I solve it?

I have provided some information on my system, please fell free to ask for more
if you need so.

Thx in advance for the help you will bring.
                                   M

MY HARDWARE:
-----------
Mother board: Asus P2L97 440LX AGP
Pentium II 233MHz, overcloked at 300MHz
128 Mo of RAM
SCSI: Adaptec 2940UW PCI, Bios updated to 1.34.3 (I already had the problem
before)
Hard Disk: Quantum UW 2.2Go and 4.5Go
CD-Rom: Plextor 32x
CD-Writer: Yamaha CDR400
Jaz 1Go external

SOFTWARE:
--------
RedHat French 5.2 with kernel 2.0.36-0.7

I tried with kernel 2.0.36-3: no change
I tried with only the 2 HD and the CD-Rom (with a physical terminator on the
cd-rom): no change
I even tried with only the 2 HD: no change
