Big thanks to Jan for this comment. As an outsider, I was wondering, too, why
there is some activity in some areas, but mostly x11@ is silent.

Maybe we should say somewhere (where?) that just pretty much anyone is free to
step in.

I am using a pretty obsolete hardware that requires older binary Nvidia driver,
and all this new KMS stuff is not for me. Having Xorg working is important.

From my side, as I am running current anyway, I can just test proposed patches
and report back as long as it does not require running some big desktop
environment.
