You need to weigh up 2 mostly opposing forces: - your ethics on supporting privacy-centric platforms - your desire to build up a community who uses other platforms If you want to start a community group, you (or somebody else in the kernel that launches this group), will need to be willing to evangelise from those networks. You may find that https://docs.mobilizon.org/about/ or bonfire https://github.com/bonfire-networks/bonfire-app may give you the technical functionality you're looking for, but you'll still need to figure out how to build the bridge to get the word out.
