Is that reproducible with 15.0-PRERELEASE and yesterday's set of
packages for FreeBSD-ports?

I can perform a major upgrade from 14.2-RELEASE-p5  with pkg-static:

<https://github.com/freebsd/pkg/issues/2475#issuecomment-3263035996>

– then restart the OS, install 771 packages from FreeBSD-ports (kde,
plasma6-sddm-kcm, sddm, xorg), shut down, boot, and finally, quietly
force an upgrade of all packages:

/usr/bin/time -h pkg upgrade -fqUy

– *without a segfault* 👍

AMD64, root-on-ZFS, 4 GB memory (3904 MB avail at startup).

OT:

- I see other issues, but not a potentially show-stopping segfault

- the shut down was necessary only because (a typo) I previously gave
only 204 MB base memory to the VirtualBox guest.
