Bug ID: 259897
Summary: textproc/elasticsearch7
Product: Ports & Packages
Version: Latest
Hardware: amd64
OS: Any
Status: New
Severity: Affects Some People
Priority: ---
Component: Individual Port(s)
Assignee: elastic@FreeBSD.org
Reporter: freebsdbugs@filis.org
Flags: maintainer-feedback?(elastic@FreeBSD.org)
Assignee: elastic@FreeBSD.org
Hej,
it seems like the default port does not work properly with IPv6. Starting
Elasticsearch with an IPv6 address in `network.host` in
`/usr/local/etc/elasticsearch/elasticsearch.yml`, it errors out with
`java.net.SocketException: Protocol family unavailable`
Setting `elasticsearch_java_home="/usr/local/openjdk8"` in `/etc/rc.conf`, it
works fine, but using the default java version or openjdk11, it doesn't work
with IPv6.
We're running Elasticsearch in a jail.
Cheers,
Philip
