Yes.  I still think it was reasonably clear.  I rather suspect(ed) that your misinterpretation in part comes from the fact that the mail that started this thread was a rant on a breakage after updating -CURRENT, but since then the conversation has broadened, which is why I asked if you had properly digested the relevant mails.
