Reverting 9ce46cbc95d7a6fccb55af0d42cbb85c29f10639, then rebuilding the
kernel, avoids the panic on the 2nd laptop.  (I'm using the first one,
as usual.)

Given that the laptops (which use ipfw) saw the panic and the build
machine (which does not) did not, there may be a relationship.

I'm happy to test possible fixes (on the 2nd laptop).
