the last Xorg.0.log.old is of the crashes session itself and contains
some information about the crash reason:

[mi] EQ overflowing. The server is probably stuck in an infinite loop.
Segmentation fault at address 0x0
The GDB backtrace is relatively useless; should I recompile parts of
xorg with debug symbols? which parts?
