 I don't have a ready 8-Current partition on this laptop (7 would not work I guess, support for the AR9280 came with 8.1/8.2), but I can upgrade if necessary (with FreeBSD 9 around the corner, I'm not to worried about destabilizing this setup).
 
 Meanwhile, I compiler a generic + ATH_DEBUG kernel. More strange things begin to happen :
 * A boot/for some time after wlan0 creation/setup, multicast (or at least, using the mdns addresses) do work, I was able to receive some with and without capture with tcpdump (who showed the capture).
 * I left the capture going on, and tried periodicaly to make some mdns queries. After a few minutes, I was again in the situation described in the report.
 
 I've attached the dmesg output from interface setting to the point I noticed the bug again.
