I too am having this problem but with a Kingston DataTraveler Elite 1GB
usb drive.

Which is a little different from the OP.
But in a stock NetBSD 2.0 it works as shown below.

If it is any help, it may work in NetBSD 2.0 which might provide a basis
of code to be ported over to FreeBSD.
To get mine to work, I will have to wait for the port over as I am a newbie.
