What you probably want is the HP Service Pack for Proliant, which is a bootable DVD-DL image (have tried converting and booting from a USB stick; no dice). It takes an inventory and updates all your firmware including bios, raid controller, etc.

Before the HP/HPE split it used to be fairly easy to get a copy even if not on service contract. That has changed; some folks ascribe this to a deliberate move on HPE's part. Considering all the broken links and general disorganization on the now-bifurcated sites, I'm more inclined to think it's just gross sloppiness and apathy - good luck even *finding* the download page if you don't know the actual file name you are looking for.

A discussion thread on the 2016-04 version is here: https://www.reddit.com/r/sysadmin/comments/4da6k9/new_hpe_service_pack_for_proliant_spp_version/

Acquiring an image is left as an exercise to the reader.
