As a data point my servers only have 4GB or RAM and gitup runs fine.

(One is a Celeron J1800 and the other an i5-3470, the Celeron is dog slow running gitup, but it runs).

(~1 minutes for the i5, 25 min for the Celery)

This makes me wish even more there was a simple way to exclude categories for the ports tree like all the foreign languages and x11 games and audio (for me, of course)

Actually, all my installed ports only come from these trees:

archivers benchmarks converters databases devel dns editors
ftp lang mail math misc net ports-mgmt print security shells
sysutils textproc and www

I'd love to be able to only sync, download, and check those categories, granted that include the six largest categories and 8 of the top ten, so not sure how much it would help, but it would help some.

My little brother got his arm stuck in the microwave. So my mom had
to take him to the hospital. My grandma dropped acid this
morning, and she freaked out. She hijacked a busload of penguins.
So it's sort of a family crisis. Bye!
