not sure how to ask this without it sounding "confrontational", but i'd 
just as soon not install all the language specific ports.  how do i 
update the index in this case?

this machine runs fine.  this drive, while only 3 gig, is plenty for 
what i do with this machine and how i use it ... as long as i don't 
install stuff i don't have any use for.

would a "make fetchindex" (without ports-all) cause problems?

4.10 on a celeron 600Mhz.
