We are looking for a new member to join the geographically-diverse,
telecommuting-only Supernews operations team. Our small team handles
all aspects of designing, coding, building and operating the Supernews
service, which is the largest (and in our biased opinion best)
supplier of outsourced Usenet service to ISPs and corporations, in
addition to our individual subscription service.

At this point we are looking for someone with substantial network
programming experience (C on Unix), including experience of
high-throughput servers. Some familiarity with Usenet and NNTP is
desirable. Other related skills that will be taken into account
include:
  - general FreeBSD experience (any aspect)
  - Perl
  - CGI or other web development skills
  - Unix administration
  - familiarity with SAN systems or large disk storage systems generally
  - IP networking (incl. BGP and/or OSPF)
  - experience with providing redundant / high-availability services

This role does not require contact with customers (unless you choose
to join the fray in supernews.general, our local newsgroup for
customers and end-users).

Location (including country, within reason) is not a factor provided
Internet connectivity is available.

Prior telecommuting experience may be useful but is not absolutely
required.

Interested parties should send resume to <unrecovery at supernews.com> in some
appropriate format (PDF, ascii preferred, MS-Word and other proprietary
formats will be bit-bucketed).
