SMP initialisation changes 6.1-PRERELEASE and 6.1-RELEASE?

I still have the old PRERELEASE kernel which works just fine even with
the new world.

Unfortunately I dont have the old src with which to compare builds,
never had any problems before and didn't even consider maintaining
as it was only PRERELEASE -> RELEASE :(

kernel conf was identical, I'm going to be building 6.2-RC2 ( current
source on the machine ) with kernel debugging to see if I can break
to the debugger when this happens.

It happens 99.9% of the time on boot just after initialising the
Highpoint controller where the next step is to initialise the other
CPU's it just hard locks :(
