Right.  I did my laptop while logged in, but weird things start to
happen when bonobo-activation-server goes south.  And, like you said,
once you update gnomvfs2, the panel goes empty.  For easy of overall
experience (given the complexity of this upgrade), it's best to do it
from a vty.
