Are you running 32bit or 64bit?  Are you using the proprietary NVidia
driver?  

For what it's worth, I am no longer able to cause a freeze on my system. 
I ran 4 VM's all weekend and have re-enabled NVIDIA's driver.  Kernel is
from April 1.

I have no idea why this is working for me.  The only thing I haven't done
yet is to turn on KDE Compositing in the desktop.  Many other people are
able to reproduce this freeze as well with or without the NVIDIA driver.
