Hmmm..  you used to be able to wire down the scsi bus using:
controller      scbus0 at ncr0
disk            da0 at scbus0 target 0
disk            da1 at scbus0 target 1
disk            da4 at scbus0 target 2
disk            da2 at scbus0 target 4

I'm not sure -current still supports it though..

The other thing that you can do is use labels... geom_label will provide
disk devices based upon their labeled names...
