FreeBSD is an operating system for your computer. To
install it, you will need to first determine which <a
href="http://www.freebsd.org/releases/index.html">release</a>
you want, then whether your hardware is supported by
that release. Then, you can download by FTP, HTTP or
BT (etc).

The user is clueless and frustrated, but our
introductory docs are often obfuscated.
