Caveat: As I write this, I haven't seen the changes to the releng
article yet.

The document you're referring to is an OpenOffice.org drawing that I
keep in the p4 repository (//depot/user/bmah).  It works well for my
purposes (a single-sheet guide to all of releases and development
branches).  I'm not sure how useful it is for anything else.

Feel free to use it for source material, but maintaining this for
public consumption is not one of my goals.

PS.  I think the releng article has mutated (by a lot) from its
original intent and content...we have collectively turned it from a
description of the 4.4 release process into a HOWTO / checklist for
building releases in general.  This is not a bad thing but I think
some structural work needs to be done to make this document more
effective.
