Hi...

Have you tried updating your controller firmware?

I also have a 2940U2W and a Yamaha CDRW8424S as well as a cheap pioneer scsi
cdrom.  I was having bus resets non-stop.  Once I updated the card, that 
problem went away.  I still have other problems, mostly reading from the cheap
cdrom.
