P2B-S mainboard with 1 disk does not boot

Dear friends,

both the Linux and SCSI are new things for me. I have compiled the
2.0.35 kernel with the pre6 patch and maybe I am missing something
obvious (since that is my compiled 1st kernel) ? I am attaching
my settings for "make xconfig", maybe someone can point me to my
mistakes?

I have an ASUS P2B-S AGP mainboard with Adaptec 7890 SCSI chipset
(BIOS build 20107) and Adaptec 3860 SCSI Transceiver. The RH 5.1
Linux is installed on an IDE drive. And I also have an IBM DCAS-
32160W ultrwa-wide SCSI hard disk.

I applied patch and compiled the kernel several times (as module
and as built-in SCSI support). I also switched SCSI BIOS on/off
and played with its options - the result is the same: my PC hangs
during the boot-up process. Here's what I see on screen:

After that it stucks. I would appreciate any help. Please tell
me if any additional information about my PC is needed.

Greetings
Alex
