5.0.14 / 2.1.98 and missing narrow devices...

Something strange happened.  I just noticed that under 2.1.98 / 5.0.14 none
of my narrow devices are detected by the 2940UW.  All the wide ones work 
fine.  I attached logs from 2.1.98 / 5.0.14 and 2.1.97 / 5.0.13 to show
the differences.  These are on the exact same system - the only difference
is the driver and kernel version.
