zfs/bsd conf call minutes

attendees : samir, ganesh, xin, pawel, tushar


   - martin updated head to zfs v15 and enabled use py-zfs commands
   - commands that are now enabled (in head) include :-
      - zfs-allow, zfs-unallow, zfs-groupspace, zfs-userspace
   - plan (pawel, martin) - bsd head zfs version will  match stable solaris
   (not opensolaris) zfs version.
   - on perforce we will keep up with  latest & greatest version v26 (soon
   v27)
   - re. netapp's receent threatened suit against coraid
      - (pawel) netapp cannot go after freebsd foundation since the
      foundation does not own freebsd code (this is unlike the situation that
      exists in netbsd where the netbsd foundation has legal rights
over the code)
      - perhaps justin can share his thoughts on this issue with the group ?


action items


   - samir / ganesh - investigate usefulness of py-zfs enabled commands on
   v26. then decide whether to port py-zfs
   - ganesh - send out details of panic in zpool create (using files as
   devices)
   - samir - checkin changes to common tree.
