I *think* i fixed it, but tbh the docs in that file make very little 
sense to the layperson.

The suggested sanity scripts should be either make(1) targets, or 
perhaps scripts in /usr/share to run, not inline comments.

Having a "make sanity-obsolete" would be nice.
