64bit inodes allow you to have more than 4 billion files in one file
system, or NFS mount.

The project also includes fixing a number of other
long-standing-because-of-ABI changes, like the max length of a
mountpoint is now 1024 instead of some small value (60 or 80 or
something it was before)
