Meh, acronym collision.

It's probably obvious in this context that GARP stands here for 
Gratuitous ARP, but my mental autocomplete reads it as Generic Attribute 
Registration Protocol (GARP).

However, that GARP -- 802.1ak -- is due to be replaced with MRP.
