The submitter has provided a new patch, he tested it and, I tested it on
- 10.0p10 amd64
- 10.1-RC3-i386
- 10.1-RC3-armv6 (raspberry-pi)

All looks fine (I hope).

Would some kind soul from the much more experienced src-committers
please take up the PR, do some more testing and commit it ?
