Checking out and cross-building is not something that is limited
to committers so I would request that any discussion occur on an
open list.

IMHO, if someone wants to do the legwork to enable FreeBSD to be
built on OS-X or Windows and the result does not adversely impact
the native build environment then this would seen to be a Good Thing.
