At least security/openssl now has spam in its build log due to using
-lpthread in CFLAGS rather than LDFLAGS.

We pointed out that -pthread would not have this issue.

Can you please stick to -pthread or not introduce new build problems by
changing to -lpthread by fixing these issues?
