Why do not you ask the port's maintainer for help?  Perhaps he could
roll an updated version of the bootstrap compiler (like he did many
times in the past when some dependency changed).  Although this change
also invalidates the pre-built vanilla binary distributions offered on
the haskell.org site [1] as well :-(
