can you please put a higher priority to this issue?
I have a pending security for gitlab in the queue, but cannot commit it 
till this problem is fixed.
If users will upgrade, the will also pull the grpc upgrade which will 
break the complete gitlab installation.

If you need more time to fix this, please revert and fix the problem 
with the new version later.
