With people I mentor that's definitely the case (and I'd certainly encourage mentors to utilize that paradigm to avoid prolonged breakages), but that's too presumptuous to be a broad rule-of-thumb. At the end of the day, only the agreement between Luca and his mentors prescribes his actions here.
