Well, I've had a look at the porter's handbook, and it doesn't say anything
like that, it must be some urban legend.

There is one case that is only documented in an example, in the table at
the end of the Package Naming Convention section [1], and it is for single
programs, like, say, you have this distribution file named PSTree-1.0,
which produces bin/pstree and man/man1/pstree.1, you have to name the port
pstree in lower case, so that people don't wonder wtf.  It is the only case.

In that case, the distfile is "HoroscopeGenerator-0.1.8", so setting
PORTNAME to HoroscopeGenerator would have been just fine.
