I kind of doubt isn't not empty.
If it had files in it, wouldn't they also show as errors in the make
check-plist?  I'm sorry I have to use deduction here, I'm not set up to
test it myself.  Maybe Jan can weigh in.

We're talking about 4 directories anyway, not one.
