I am not a native English speaker, so correct me if I'm wrong.  The
commit log sounds slightly derogatory toward the original author.  Given
we have many committers who are not native speakers, maybe we should
avoid such comments so may dishearten them.

Again, excuse me if I am misunderstanding your statement.
