Sorry, I didn't check closely and assumed drm-devel-kmod was the 12-stable
variant of drm-current-kmod, but it seems they are currently identical.

12.2-RELEASE won't change that.

I'd suggest you try drm-fbsd12.0-kmod-4.16.g20200221 first.  If that
doesn't work, then your only option would be to switch to 13-current
and drm-current-kmod-5.4.62.g20200914 (or drm-devel-kmod-5.4.62.g20200914),
