OT: labeling keys on the keyboard for an additional language

Hello,
I'm German with a German QWERTZ keyboard layout. I study Russian to be
able to read and understand Russian news channels (and not only our
mainstream propaganda).
I've configured with a file of xmodmaps commands using the Win-key as
modifiers so that Win+key gives the row of chars below the lines of
normal German chars:
^ 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 ¿ ´ <--- German
^ ¡ 2 @ 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 \ ´
q w e r t z u i o p ü + <--- German
я ш е р т з у и о п ю + <--- Russian (Win+key)
a s d f g h j k l ö ä # <--- German
а с д ф г х й к л ё э щ <--- Russian (Win+key)
< y x c v b n m , . - <--- German
« ы ж ч в б н м ь ъ ц <--- Russian (Win+key)
What I'm missing a bit are the correct Russian labels on the keys and I
always have some small jpeg picture on the screen to find them, like the
attached one. Some better idea how to solve this to get correct Russian
UTF-8 chars while typing?
Thanks
matthias
