This seems to indicate that it's not related to input.  I wonder if a change in
base makes xorg-server-1.20.8_2,1 behave strange, where 1.20.8_1,1, which
presumably is compiled earlier, doesn't.
When did you update CURRENT?  When is xorg-server-1.20.8_2,1 from?
I'm running xorg-server 1.20.8_2,1, installed June 13, on CURRENT r362147
without any issues.  This version is compiled on FreeBSD_version 1300097.
