Current workaround:

  $ cd /usr/local/bin
  $ mv kwin_x11 kwin_x11.orig
  $ cat <<\EOF >kwin_x11

  export MESA_LOADER_DRIVER_OVERRIDE=i965
  exec kwin_x11.orig "$@"
  EOF
  $ chmod +x kwin_x11
