X not able to start X after new install

Hi!
Can you verify that you actually load radeonkms.ko and that it attaches? 
  Are you using modesetting or xf86-video-ati?
Based on the snippet you pasted it looks like it's trying to use the 
vesa driver.  Do you have any xorg configuraton?
